Ciao!
Buona visione e a presto!
ART@Hilton is a series of art exhibitions at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice and curated by Giudecca 795 Art Gallery, presenting emerging artists of great interest. The art shows are aimed to invite the guests to a full immersion in the atmosphere of today’s Venice. The current edition of the yearly art programme at the Molino Stucky (in the former flour mills of Venice) is specially dedicated to food and water, the themes of the "International Expo 2015 - Feeding the Planet" (May to October 2015). The artists selected by the Giudecca 795 Art Gallery for this edition of ART@Hilton were invited to submit work with the theme of food and water. On the occasion of Expo 2015's opening, we present the art of Gjon Jakaj, a 22-year-old photographer from Kosovo who fled the war with his family and, as a result of that experience, focused on the joy of living, leading the viewer to the discovery of small priceless moments. Much of the photographic work on display is inspired by bread imbued with strong symbolic meaning. Giudecca 795 chose to present these works inside the historic former mills of Venice where they enhance the connection between the past and today’s use of the space by the Hilton Molino Stucky Hotel. The 2015 ART@Hilton programme alternates painting and photography to allow a variety of artistic visions, expressions, and interpretations of the chosen themes though the artists are also showing other works nearby at the Giudecca 795 gallery, a few metres from the hotel.
