Venice Italy 2017: Giudecca 795 Art Gallery turning 10

Giudecca 795 Art Gallery is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Since 2007, the gallery's mission has been and remains the search and high profile presentation of new talent. Photography, painting, design and -- more recently -- art glass and mosaics are the different modes of expression being explored. 

This year's exhibit programme focuses both on the artists with whom the gallery already collaborates and on two talent-scouting competitions: the "One Day in Venezia Photo Contest" for aspiring photographers and the "Mosaic Young Talent Award 2017" for young mosaic artists who demonstrate remarkable artistic achievement.

On the occasion of the Visual Arts Biennale starting in May, the gallery is exhibiting young artists. They include Cecilia Gioria, 26, a figurative artist already seen at Art Basel; Gjon Jakaj, 25, a photographer; and, in coming weeks, Marcelle Ottier, Jan Mizo, Schisci, and Duarja, to name a few. For the duration of 2017, all the artists of the gallery are the protagonists in a work-in-progress show/atelier. In addition, a group of new offerings will be presented to the collectors who, since 2007, have appreciated and supported the gallery’s activities. For them, the gallery reserves special events (in the exhibit rooms, artists’ studios, and other venues), and special discounts.

All year ’round, Giudecca 795 offers part of its space to the One Day in Venezia photo contest (which awards a winner each month and a yearly Grand Prize Winner). The gallery hosts the winner's solo show, the collective exhibition of the 12 finalists and the special prizes, and a digital display showing all the submitted photos. The display gives visibility to all the participants in a kaleidoscope of very special images of Venice as seen through the eyes of its most attentive visitors. During the Venice Film Festival from 25 August to 10 September, Giudecca 795 Art Gallery will host the preview of the "Mosaic Young Talent Award 2017” competition. Participants will include young mosaic masters attending the Mosaic School in collaboration with the Naonis Association of Pordenone. Guglielmo Zanette will be a special guest, exhibiting his "South Beach - Gold Collection".

Among the traditional events at the gallery: Giudecca 795 hosts Art Night Venezia (June 18th) and the Festival delle Arti di Giudecca e Sacca Fisola (8-10 September).

At the moment, Gallery hours are from 6pm to 9pm; will be 11 am to 8 pm shortly (closed Mondays and from 11 to 21 August). Because of several invitation-only events, it is advisable to check on the website for Giudecca 795’s opening times.

Dalla sua fondazione ad oggi, la mission della galleria è stata e rimane all'insegna della ricerca e della valorizzazione di nuovi talenti. Fotografia, pittura, design e più recentemente vetro e mosaico d'artista sono le diverse modalità espressive esplorate. La programmazione espositiva 795 si focalizza sugli artisti con cui la galleria già collabora, e su due concorsi "talent-scout": "One Day in Venezia Photo Contest" per aspiranti fotografi, e il "Mosaic Young Talent Award 2017" per giovani maestri mosaicisti (che ha raccolto risultati artistici straordinari)..

Il programma espositivo dei prossimi mesi in galleria, in occasione della Biennale Arti Visive:

- Si parte a Maggio con i giovani: Cecilia Gioria (26 anni, artista figurativa già vista ad Art Basel), Gjon Jakaj (25 anni, fotografo), e a seguire Marcelle Ottier, Jan Mizo, Schisci, Duarja, per citarne alcuni. Per l'intera durata del 2017 tutti gli artisti della galleria sono protagonisti, in una mostra-atelier in divenire e con un "focus" a rotazione; a questo si aggiunge la sperimentazione con un gruppo di nuove proposte che vengono presentate in anteprima ai collezionisti che dal 2007 ad oggi hanno apprezzato e sostenuto l'attività, cui sono riservati eventi speciali (in galleria, in studi d'artista ed altre location) e sconti a sorpresa.

- Giudecca 795 offre al concorso fotografico One Day In Venezia (che premia un vincitore al mese per tutto l'anno e un Grand Winner finale) lo spazio per la mostra del vincitore assoluto, la collettiva dei 12 finalisti più i premi speciali, e il digital screen che mese per mese presenta tutte le foto partecipanti, dando quindi visibilità a tutti gli iscritti in un grande caleidoscopio di immagini molto speciali di Venezia, vista con gli occhi dei suoi visitatori più attenti. - Nel periodo della Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, dal 25 agosto al 10 settembre la galleria ospita la preview della mostra-concorso "Mosaic Young Talent Award 2017" con la partecipazione di alcuni giovani maestri mosaicisti diplomati alla Scuola del Mosaico, in collaborazione con l'Associazione Naonis di Pordenone; Guglielmo Zanette sarà special guest con l'esposizione delle sue opere "South Beach - Gold Collection".

Tra gli appuntamenti fissi in galleria: Giudecca 795 ospita artisti di Art Night Venezia (18 Giugno) e Festival delle Arti di Giudecca e Sacca Fisola (8-10 Settembre).

2017 Work in progress

Continuano le "prove tecniche di compleanno" per la Giudecca 795 Art Gallery nel suo decimo anniversario di attività.

Fotografia, pittura, design e (recentemente introdotti) oggettistica creativa e artigianato d'arte in mosaico e vetro sono le diverse modalità espressive scelte dalla galleria per raccontare la Venezia più contemporanea e inusuale, la meno turistica.

Alla valorizzazione degli artisti con cui la galleria ha consolidato il rapporto negli anni, esposti in permanenza in una mostra-atelier in divenire, si aggiunge la sperimentazione con un gruppo di nuove collaborazioni, un gruppo di talenti selezionati nei mesi scorsi e presentati esclusivamente ai collezionisti della 795. Ai clienti più affezionati sono riservate offerte, eventi (in galleria o altre location) e sconti a sorpresa praticamente tutti i i giorni e solo su invito: chi tra il 2007 e il 2016 ha acquistato almeno un dipinto o una fotografia d'autore in galleria, riceve la 795 Card, che è la chiave d'accesso privilegiata al "795 World", il "mondo 795".

Un posto speciale nei 200 mq espositivi è dedicato al Concorso fotografico OneDayInVenezia.com , rivolto ad aspiranti fotografi, giunto alla 2a edizione e promosso da Giudecca 795 con partner prestigiosi (Hilton Molino Venice, Hotel Metropole, Teatro La Fenice, Cipriani Harry's Bar ed Harry's Dolci, Gran Caffè Quadri, Ristorante Da Ivo, Consorzio Venice Water Taxi).

Giudecca 795 Art Gallery si unisce ai festeggiamenti per.. analoga ricorrenza del vicino Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, inaugurato nel 2007. La galleria, che da anni collabora stabilmente con l'Hotel per gli allestimenti artistici e la rassegna ART@Hilton, ha partecipato alla selezione degli artisti emergenti che saranno a breve in mostra in albergo per una mostra celebrativa speciale (mese di febbraio 2017).

L'hotel ha ospitato la preview della mostra dei finalisti alla 1a edizione di OneDayInVenezia Photo Contest, e nel corso dell'anno vedrà anche la personale della vincitrice assoluta.
E per tutte e due le realtà questo sarà un compleanno particolarmente importante, sia per il numero "tondo" sia per la concomitanza con la Biennale Arti Visive - che si svolgerà quest'anno a Venezia dal 13 Maggio al 26 Novembre.

- The "birthday technical tests" continue for the Giudecca 795 Art Gallery in its tenth anniversary of activity.

Photography, painting, design, and (recently introduced) creative art objects in mosaic and glass, are the different expressive choices from the gallery mode to tell the most contemporary and unusual Venezia, the less touristy.
Besides promoting the artists with whom the gallery has consolidated the professional relationship over the years, and who are permanently exhibited in a work in progress show, the 795 gallery is including some experimentation with a group of new talents selected in past months and now being presented only to the gallery's collectors. The fondest clients in fact receive special offers and invitations to events (at the gallery or other venues) and surprise discounts, daily: the visitors who between 2007 and 2016 have purchased at least one painting or photography from the gallery, are receiving the 795 Card, the privileged access key to the "795 World".

A special place in the 200 square meters of exhibition is dedicated to the OneDayInVenezia.com Photo Contest, targeted to aspiring photographers, now in its second edition, and promoted by Giudecca 795 with prestigious partners (Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, Hotel Metropole, Teatro La Fenice, Cipriani Harry's Bar and Harry's Dolci, Gran Caffè Quadri, Ristorante Da Ivo, Venice Water Taxi Consortium).

Giudecca 795 Art Gallery shares its birthday with ther nearby Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, inaugurated in 2007. The gallery, that has been collaborating with the Hotel for the artistic settings and the ART@Hilton yearly programe of exhibits, has contributed selecting the emerging artists who will soon be displayed at the hotel in a special celebration show (February 2017).
The hotel has hosted a preview of the exhibition of the finalists at the first edition of OneDayInVenezia Photo Contest, and later this year will also host the solo show of the Grand winner.

And for both the Hotel and the Gallery this will be a very important birthday, marked by the "round" number and by the Visual Arts Biennale taking place this year in Venice from 13 May to 26 November.
